What does community mean to you?
An essay and art contest
Robert Inman is an award-winning novelist, screenwriter, and playwright, and he began his writing career in junior high school working for the Elba Clipper.  He has written five novels and one work of non-fiction related to growing up in Elba, as well as screenplays for television movies and scripts for plays that are performed around the country.  You can read more about his career at www.robert-inman.com.  Mr. Inman will return to Elba on October 11 and 12 to discuss his work and memories of growing up in Elba. 

Essay/Story Contest
We invite you to write a brief story or essay on the topic of what community means to you.  You can write about family, friends, pets, school, church, or any other aspect of community that you would like to share.

Elementary School Submissions: At least 200 words.
Middle School Submissions: At least 300 words.
High School Submissions: At least 500 words.

Submission Process
Deadline for all Submissions:  October 9 @ 11:59 p.m. 
Everyone who submits an entry will receive a certificate signed by Mr. Inman.
 
Six entrants will receive prizes, and they will be announced at an event with Mr. Inman on Tuesday, October 11, 6:30 p.m. at the Elba Theatre. All submissions received will be on display at the event.
